NBSA OPC Team, Led by Dr. Aliyu Waziri, Pays Courtesy Visit to Zenith Medical & Kidney Centre and Asokoro District Hospital to Enhance Blood Services in Nigeria
In a concerted effort to strengthen blood service delivery across the country, the National Blood Service Agency (NBSA) Operations Center (OPC) Team, led by Dr. Aliyu Waziri, embarked on a courtesy visit to Zenith Medical & Kidney Centre and Asokoro District Hospital. This visit aligns with the agency’s strategic mission to bolster blood donation initiatives, improve accessibility, and foster collaboration with key healthcare institutions.
During the visit, the NBSA OPC team engaged with the management and medical personnel of both facilities, discussing ways to enhance blood collection, storage, and distribution systems. The interaction also focused on identifying challenges in blood service operations and exploring solutions to ensure a steady and safe blood supply for medical emergencies, including kidney treatments, surgeries, and maternal health interventions.
Dr. Waziri emphasized the importance of forging partnerships with leading healthcare providers, stating that “a sustainable and efficient blood service system requires strong institutional collaboration. Our goal is to create an ecosystem where safe blood is readily available and accessible to all Nigerians in need.”
The leadership of Zenith Medical & Kidney Centre and Asokoro District Hospital welcomed the NBSA team and expressed their commitment to supporting blood donation drives and implementing measures that enhance service delivery in transfusion medicine.
